An Innisfil woman and her four-year-old grand-daughter are breathing a huge sigh of relief after they narrowly escaped injury when a tree crashed onto their moving car Wednesday morning.

Around 9:15 a.m., the two were driving west on the 10th Line of Innisfil from 25 Sideroad when part of a large tree broke apart and fell across the top of their car.

Several branches punctured the front window and smashed the back window.

Emergency crews were on scene quickly and the road was soon reopened.

Police say weather was not a factor in the accident and are attributing the accident to 'deadfall.'
