There are no injuries, following an early morning house fire in Caledon.

Fire crews were contacted just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday morning after flames were spotted jutting from the back of a home on Torbram Road south of King Street.

Caledon fire officials checked inside the residence, but no one was home. Officials say the flames were spreading quickly and firefighters were forced to take a defensive attack.

Tanker relays were called in to help battle the fire, which took several hours to extinguish. Damage to the house is significant.

A section of Torbram Road was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.

A cause and damage estimate has not been released.
