A complaint about a suspicious vehicle on Mountain Road at 2:30 p.m. Monday led police to investigate. When they arrived, the driver quickly fled, and police did not pursue it for safety reasons.

Blue Mountain and Collingwood police learned that the accused was wanted on three outstanding arrest warrants held by the Toronto Police Service and the Peel Regional Police Service for similar offences.

As a result, a 29-year-old Shelburne woman was charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Four counts of possession of an identity document
  • Possession of breaking-in instruments
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Six counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • Flight from a peace officer

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.

The investigation is ongoing. Police request that anyone with information, security or dash camera footage of the incident is asked to contact the Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP at (705)-445-4321 or 1-888-310-1122. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
