A trailer was destroyed by fire in Angus.

Provincial police and Essa Fire Department received a call at around 11:45 a.m. Friday about a house trailer fire at 62 Brentwood Park Trailer Park.

When they arrived, they discovered the trailer was fully engulphed in flames.

Const. Mckayla Cotey of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said there were no injuries and says two residents escaped the trailer.

However, a dog was unable to make it out and died in the fire.

The three residents who lived in the trailer will stay with family as the trailer was a total loss.

An investigation revealed the cause of the fire was a propane heater, she said, adding it was not considered suspicious.

Firefighters will remain on scene to douse hot spots if they ignite, Cotey said.
