A Barrie soccer team gave it their best shot, but came up just short in the championship game at a tournament in Minnesota.
The u12 girls Barrie FC Strikers faced off against North Metro Diamond Minnesota on Saturday at the Schwan’s USA Cup in Blaine, Minn.
Both teams were undefeated going into the championship game, but despite their best effort, the girls lost 3-1. The teams coach says the girls played a hard fought game – battling off the heat and many injuries.
The girls finish the tournament 4-1-1 with nine goals for and four against.
