A Barrie man is half-a-million-dollars richer after winning the lottery.

Jeffrey McLaughlin won the $500,000 in the September 17 Lotto Max draw with the ticket he purchased on OLG.ca.
Lotto Max is $5 per play, with draws twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Tonight’s Lotto Max jackpot is worth an estimated $27 million.
