York Regional Police Const. Garrett Styles was honoured and remembered today, June 23, 2013, by cyclists at a memorial ride in York Region.

These riders were part of the third annual Memorial Ride for Styles.

They biked 40 kilometers from Newmarket to Markham. Styles died in hospital in 2011 after being dragged for 300 metres and pinned beneath a Dodge Caravan driven by a 15-year-old boy he'd stopped on Highway 48. Style's parents were at the ride today and say they are amazed by the community support.

About $12,000 was raised through the ride. The money will help support Victim Services of York Region, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Special Olympics.
