Police in Barrie say two teens were arrested for having a loaded gun and drugs in their possession.

Police say the Barrie Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Safety and Well-Being Team executed two warrants at homes in the city as part of an investigation into drug trafficking activity.

On Tuesday, officers located two 17-year-olds in a vehicle on Dunlop Street West near Ferndale Drive North around 5:30 p.m. and took them into custody without incident.

Police alleged the two Barrie boys were found with a handgun and a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine.

The identities of both teens are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
