A skating trail through the forest in Huntsville has been re-opened after mild temperatures earlier in the month.
“These are great conditions. Good temperatures for making ice. It was -16 Celcius last night so the staff worked here until 1 in the morning to build up the ice to get it open today,” said Peter Briand with Arrowhead Provincial Park.
“They are literally skating through the forest. It’s a 1.3 km oval that winds through the forest on what are campground roads in the summer.”
The trail brought in 20,000 tourists last year, and people who have experienced it say it’s worth the drive, and that it’d be smart to remember their camera.
