A development dispute in Springwater Township will no longer be settled before the Ontario Municipal Board.

Springwater officials say after reviewing an agreement to build about 3,000 new homes in Midhurst, they're confident the conditions will control the pace, density, and shape of the development.

These principles include strict phasing criteria, comprehensive subdivision approval conditions and appropriate density provisions.

Springwater mayor Bill French says he's been assured the new development won't even start until years from now, when the housing projects that are currently on the books are finished.

The township is telling the OMB it no longer needs a referee on the matter, but warns the OMB could be called in, if any future disagreements arise.
