A woman from Scarborough is facing charges and will have to find an alternate method of travel after police say she was clocked speeding nearly 90 km/h over the limit in Innisfil.

Police allege the officer's radar caught the vehicle travelling 148 kilometres per hour in a posted 60 zone on Innisfil Beach Road on Tuesday morning.

The 36-year-old woman was charged with stunt driving and speeding.

She was also handed a month-long licence suspension, and the vehicle was towed roadside to an impound yard, where it will remain for two weeks.

A stunt driving charge is automatically applied to motorists nabbed speeding 40 kilometres or more along a road with a limit of less than 80 km/h.
