Three people have been charged in the death of a 50-year-old Barrie woman, who was killed in a Kozlov Street apartment.
Barrie police arrested 26-year-old Greg Keays of Innisfil on Monday, charging him with first-degree murder.
James Garthwaite, 22, of Toronto and a 26-year-old Barrie man were arrested on Wednesday. They have also been charged with first-degree murder.
Garthwaite was arrested at a Toronto jail. He is currently serving a sentence for a separate firearm conviction.
“Through several tips and the ongoing investigation it lead to locating three males that were responsible for the homicide that occurred,” says Barrie police Const. Sarah Bamford.
Dana Camber was shot in the abdomen with a shotgun in her Kozlov Street apartment building on March 14.
“Our homicide unit had further leads on the two outstanding suspects. So to protect the integrity of the investigation we didn't release the information at the time.”
Barrie police say they executed search warrants at several locations this week, including at a home on Henderson Drive in Innisfil.
Camber has been remembered as a good woman who loved her family.
At this point, police won’t say if there’s a relationship between the three suspects and Camber.
These charges in the death of Camber have not been tested in court.
This is Barrie’s third homicide of the year.
