Snow squalls are expected to bring 20 to 40 centimetres of snow by Tuesday morning.
The national weather agency says as much as five-to-10 cms could fall per hour and that motorists can expect poor to zero visibility at times.
Due to roads closures in the northern part of central Ontario this past weekend, Public Safety Canada is encouraging drivers to make an emergency plan and prepare an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
Additionally, OPP are cautioning drivers to use 511 for traffic updates, as personal GPS units may not be updated with latest snow/road closure incidents.
Areas included under the snow squall warning include:
- Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale
- Midland, Coldwater, Orr Lake
- Owen Sound, the Blue Mountains, Northern Grey County and Southern Bruce County
