Snow day for many students
The first school day in December is a snow day in many parts of central Ontario.
The weekend wallop of snow has the Ontario Provincial Police urging the public to stay home and avoid unneccesary travel.

Highway 11 remains closed between Highway 60 in Huntsville and West Street in Orillia. Police say the area has been cleared of all obstructions as of 3:15 a.m., and were allowing snow plows in to begin to clear the roads at that time.
All Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium school buses and vans in the North Weather Zone (Elmvale, Midland, Penetanguishene and Orillia) and the Muskoka Weather Zone including Monsignor Michael O'Leary Elementary School, St. Mary's Elementary School in Huntsville as well as St. Dominic Secondary School have been cancelled due to potentially dangerous driving conditions.
Michael Carvalho, Operations Manager with the consortium said schools remain open for student learning.
All buses in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board have also been cancelled due to poor road conditions.
Additonally, Shared Services Transportation has cancelled many school buses and vans in the Bluewater region, including Meaford, Thornbury, Owen Sound, Markdale and Flesherton.
