Simcoe and Grey counties gets a boost of bucks for bridges, roads and buildings.

Through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Funds (OCIF), Simcoe-Grey riding will receive $15.9M to help local communities fix and update their existing framework and build new infrastructure as needed.

"Supporting small and rural communities throughout the large and growing riding of Simcoe-Grey is vital, and that includes providing sustainable infrastructure," said MPP Brian Saunderson.
"The Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund provides significant funding to our municipalities for new projects while also improving and updating aging and critical infrastructure."

Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson says the $15,898,362 will arrive in 2025 through the OCIF, which is part of the province's $190 billion capital plan to build and expand more homes, highways, hospitals, transit and high-speed internet.

The 2025 OCIF allocations for Simcoe-Grey are as follows:

Adjala-Tosorontio           $488,431
Clearview                       $641,451
Collingwood                 $1,169,364
Essa                               $700,599
Grey County                 $3,488,105
New Tecumseth           $2,409,548
Simcoe County             $3,773,895
The Blue Mountains     $1,934,768
Wasaga Beach             $1,292,201

In 2022, the government doubled its annual investment for OCIF to nearly $2 billion over five years to support more local infrastructure projects in small, rural and northern communities.
In 2025, Ontario will allocate $400 million in OCIF funding to help 423 small, rural and northern communities build roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure. Communities may accumulate the money for up to five years to address larger infrastructure projects.
