A jury found Jessy Herlichka guilty of second-degree murder and his co-accused Paul McClung guilty of manslaughter.
Lawyers for the defence are now arguing about questions of parole and how much time the men should spend in jail.
The judge did not hand down a sentence on Friday, they will likely be given in the coming weeks.
