A man was seriously injured in Wasaga Beach early Sunday morning after reportedly being hit by a driver who fled the scene.

OPP say a group of pedestrians were walking on 68th Street North near Shore Lane at around 5:30 a.m. when a vehicle struck one of them and did not remain at the scene.

The 57-year-old Wasaga Beach man who was struck suffered serious injuries and was airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto-area hospital.

OPP say the vehicle involved may have been a black Dodge RAM pickup truck with front-end damage, possibly including a broken window.

Huronia West OPP are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone who may have footage of it.
