City of Orillia hosts its 1st pickleball tournament
The City of Orillia will host its first pickleball tournament this weekend.

The event will be held at the Orillia Recreation Centre on West Street South on Saturday. There will be a full roster of 24 teams, including a dozen in the beginner/novice pool.
Participants range in age from 24 to 65.
Pickleball is a sport that attracts a wide demographic and combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. The sport has gained traction across Ontario in recent years.
The tournament runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the final matches and a trophy presentation from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
