New nurse practitioner-led clinic in Innisfil to expand care to over 3,000 residents
Innisfil residents have a new option for primary care with the grand opening of the Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic’s second location.
Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Sylvia Jones joined local leaders for the official ribbon cutting on Friday, noting how the clinic would connect over 3,000 people in the region to primary care.
The new clinic located at the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre on Yonge Street has been operational since last month, offering a range of services, including nurse practitioner-led primary care along with dietitian services, mental health support, and other essential health services.
Provincial Support
The Ontario government contributed nearly $1.5 million to the project.
“Access to local, quality health care is essential for families in Innisfil, and the Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic brings that care closer to home. Supporting this initiative has been an honor, and I am excited to see the meaningful difference this clinic will make for our community’s health and well-being,” stated Barrie-Innisfil MPP Andrea Khanjin.
Mayor Lynn Dollin emphasised the clinic’s importance to the community.
“This new nurse practitioner clinic is a very welcome addition to the Town of Innisfil,” Dollin said. “The Town, as outlined in our latest strategic plan, is committed to bringing services our residents need and want and access to health care is always at the top of the list.”
Residents interested in receiving care at the nurse practitioner-led clinic can register online, and because of high demand, the public is encouraged to register soon to secure care.
