Pedestrian in serious condition after being struck by vehicle

One person was rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries after police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Caledon.

Officers were called to Dixie Road near Mayfield Road just before 10 for the collision.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries. Police are not disclosing the individual's identity.

Dixie Road between Old School Road and Mayfield Road was closed for several hours following the incident for the police investigation. It has since reopened.
