Overnight stabbing at Barrie plaza under investigation
Two men were injured in an incident that occurred at a Barrie plaza around Cundles Road East and Sperling Drive early Monday morning.
Just after 2 a.m., Barrie police officers responded to reports of someone getting hit and run. Police say that two men were involved in a violent interaction outside a business in the plaza where a group of men attempted to steal a Jeep from the parking lot. A man reportedly came from inside the business to help and was struck by a car, while one of the other men who was initially involved in the violent interaction was allegedly stabbed.

The injured men were transported to a local hospital, and one was later transported to a Toronto area trauma centre to receive treatment for multiple stab wounds.
Detectives from the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Unit are investigating the incident.
