Share

Two men were injured in an incident that occurred at a Barrie plaza around Cundles Road East and Sperling Drive early Monday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., Barrie police officers responded to reports of someone getting hit and run. Police say that two men were involved in a violent interaction outside a business in the plaza where a group of men attempted to steal a Jeep from the parking lot. A man reportedly came from inside the business to help and was struck by a car, while one of the other men who was initially involved in the violent interaction was allegedly stabbed.

The injured men were transported to a local hospital, and one was later transported to a Toronto area trauma centre to receive treatment for multiple stab wounds.

Detectives from the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Unit are investigating the incident.

This is an ongoing investigation. CTV News will provide more updates as they become available.
