One lucky ticketholder will take home more than half a million dollars with the RVH Auxiliary 50/50 community draw.

With just over 12 hours left to purchase tickets, the 50/50 draw has reached over $518,000, making it one of the largest jackpots in the fundraiser's history.

The monthly draw supports the Auxiliary's ambitious $5 million pledge to RVH's Keep Life Wild Campaign, primarily aimed at facilitating the expansion of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The funds raised are rationed to various hospital needs, including patient care, equipment upgrades, and expansion projects.

"The government only pays for so much, and the rest of it, we do have to do fundraising. Our RVH Foundation, right now, is raising $100 million for the hospital, and we are a big part of helping them achieve their goal, and we will continue to do that," said Lise McCourt, RVH Auxiliary president.

In June, funds from the monthly draw helped Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie be equipped with three new NICU isolates and 30 state-of-the-art wheelchairs.

Tickets are available for purchase online until 11:59 p.m.

The jackpot draw will take place on Thursday. A random number generator selects the winning ticket number, which will be announced online.
