Provincial police want residents to keep their doors and windows locked after reports of a man trying to gain entry to homes in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

According to police, a homeowner found their patio door at the rear of their home on Grey Road 18 opened and noticed an individual running from the property around 7:30 on the evening of Oct. 20.

The man is described as five feet nine inches tall. He wore blue jeans and a grey hoodie.

Officers canvassed the area and discovered another neighbour woke around 2 a.m. that same day to someone trying to open her rear door, which was locked.

It's unclear if the same man was involved in both attempted break-ins.

Police say no items were reported stolen in either incident.

Local authorities ask residents to ensure sheds, garages and vehicles are locked “even if you are home.”
