Provincial police have identified the victim of a homicide in the Town of Erin.

The OPP say they located the body of Frederick John Hatch, 65, in the brush off Wellington Road 124 on Thursday. Investigators say they have not been able to find Hatch’s next of kin.

Police believe Hatch travelled to Erin from eastern Ontario – arriving in the town on Wednesday or early Thursday.

Hatch’s body was discovered by firefighters, while responding to a small brush fire. An autopsy was conducted on Saturday, leading police to deem the death a result of homicide.
