Provincial police have set up a tip line in the hopes of gathering information, as they investigate a homicide in the Town of Erin, located south of Orangeville.

Wellington County OPP set up the toll-free line on Sunday, one day after deeming the discovery of a man’s body as a homicide.

The body of the 65-year-old man was found on Thursday by firefighters, who were responding a small brush fire.

An autopsy conducted on Saturday resulted in police launching the homicide investigation. The exact cause is being withheld as evidence.

Police believe the man travelled to Erin from eastern Ontario – arriving in the town on Wednesday or early Thursday morning.

The identity of the man won’t be released until next of kin have been notified.

Anyone with information can call the tip line at 1-844-677-5010 or Crime Stoppers.
