Provincial police are investigating a death at a cottage south of Parry Sound on Georgian Bay.

On Saturday evening, officers, including the K9 unit, emergency response team, and marine units responded to a report of a cottage fire and a firearm being discharged on San Souci Island, north of Twelve Mile Bay.

Emergency crews arrived to find the cottage engulfed in flames.

Provincial police say a body was discovered outside of the cottage, and confirmed to CTV News the death is not considered suspicious.

They say no one else was at the residence.

Police are investigating with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services and the Chief Coroner’s Office.
