Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after what provincial police are calling the largest fentanyl seizure in Simcoe County.

Ontario Provincial Police launched an investigation in October into two individuals allegedly trafficking drugs in the County, and said on Thursday a coordinated traffic stop was conducted on Mosley Street in Wasaga Beach.

Officers allegedly seized 1,039 grams of fentanyl, 1971.3 grams of cocaine, 998.5 grams of methamphetamine, 178 cartons of contraband cigarettes, and more than $4,200 in cash.

Police arrested a 38-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both from Wasaga Beach.

The two accused face more than a dozen charges.
