One injured in apartment fire

Emergency crews responded to a fire at an apartment building in Orillia Sunday afternoon, which resulted in one person getting transported to hospital.

The incident occurred at an apartment building on West Street North between Borland Street and Jarvis Street. Orillia Fire, Orillia OPP and Simcoe County Paramedics responded to the scene just after 4 p.m. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Police say one person suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to local hospital.

West Street North was closed in the area of the scene to allow crews to investigate.
