OPP have arrested a suspect related to a fail-to-remain collision in Midland this weekend.

At around 3:20 a.m. Saturday morning, officers from the Georgian Bay detachment responded to reports of a collision where a vehicle collided with a pedestrian in the parking lot of a convenience store on Midland Avenue.

Both the vehicle and pedestrian allegedly fled the scene before the arrival of officers.

The pedestrian was believed to have suffered significant injuries.

Then, on Sunday evening, officers arrested and charged a 25-year-old Midland man with attempting to commit murder, dangerous operation and failing to stop at an accident.

The accused was held for a bail hearing in Barrie and is scheduled for a future court date.

The pedestrian was also located and is receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.
