Police are investigating after human remains were found on Christian Island.
OPP tell CTV News they got a call to help the Anishinabek Police Service Wednesdayafternoon after the remains were found by a member of the Beausoleil First Nation in the area of Big Sand Bay on Christian Island.
Members of the Central Region Crime Unit, South Georgian Bay OPP, and Forensic Identification Services have been called in to assist the Anishinabek Police Service. They remain on scene on today.
Investigators are looking to learn the identity of the remains but Beausoleil First Nation Chief Roland Monague tells CTV News there are no missing persons listed on Christian Island.
There is no word on how long the investigation will take.
