A fire on Friday morning has heavily damaged a two-storey home on Nielson road near Waubaushene.
Officials say the fire started in the second-floor bathroom after 8 a.m. There were six people in the house at the time but were able to get out safely. The home was undergoing renovations at the time of the fire.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the second floor and prevent it from spreading to the entire home. Damage is estimated at between $500,000 and $700,000.
One firefighter was taken to hospital from the heat and over exertion.
The fire is not considered suspicious.
