G1 driver hit with slew of charges after ditching car
A man faces a slew of charges after losing control of his car on Pigeon Lake Road.
Kawartha Lakes Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the Emily Township road after receiving a report about the collision Saturday shortly after 8 p.m.
On-scene paramedics determined the man had sustained only minor injuries.
OPP charged the 35-year-old Lindsay driver with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Failure to comply with prohibition order
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - other drugs
- Drive motor vehicle - not equipped with ignition interlock device
- Class G1 Licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver
- Careless Driving
- Drive a vehicle with cannabis readily available
In addition to the charges, the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the car was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear later in court.
