Reports officers received indicated that one vehicle had crashed into another and that both came to a stop in the centre median, blocking a live lane of traffic. Police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
Police say the responding officers had cause to enter an impaired driving investigation with one of the drivers, who was subsequently arrested at the scene.
A 21-year-old from Ajax was charged with two impaired driving-related offences and dangerous operation.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled for a December court date in Newmarket.
