Cocaine, weapons seized in Central Ontario drug bust

A man is facing numerous drug trafficking charges after Dufferin OPP seized a large assortment of drugs and weapons in Orangeville earlier this week.

On Thursday evening, multiple OPP units executed a search warrant at a location on Madison Avenue.

Officers seized 62 grams of cocaine, 18 hydromorphone pills, four grams of fentanyl, almost $4,000 in Canadian cash, two tasers and a 22-caliber long rifle, among other items.

A 35-year-old Orangeville man was charged with seven drug trafficking-related offences, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused is scheduled for a future court date.
