Scary moments play out on surveillance video captured at Barrie’s waterfront of a suspect holding a gun to the head of a teenager.
The video, released by Barrie police on Tuesday, shows two teenagers surrounded by four suspects at the city’s marina on July 11, just before 1 a.m.
In the video, one of the suspects can be seen holding a firearm to the back of the head of one of the victims. Two of the other suspects can also be seen armed with a metal object or expandable baton.
Investigators believe the two teenagers may have been lured to the area by one the suspects and robbed of all their belongings just minutes later.
When officers arrived on scene that night, the victims and suspects were gone. Police say a security guard confronted the suspects, but they also pulled the gun on him.
“To date these victims haven't come forward to police and they may be out of fear," says Barrie police Const. Sarah Bamford.
The suspect seen holding the black handgun is described as a white male between 16 and 18 years old, with dark hair and a medium build. He was seen wearing a light coloured bandana, and a light coloured baseball hat.
The second suspect is described as a white male between 16 and 18 years old, tall, with a slim build and short dark hair. He was seen wearing a light coloured baseball hat and jogging pants.
The third suspect is described as a white male between 16 and 18 years old, tall, with a medium build. He was seen wearing a disguise over his face and a light coloured hoodie.
The final suspect is described as a white male between 16 and 18 years old, tall, with a heavy build. He was seen wearing a grey hoodie and a baseball hat.
Police believe the suspects fled the scene in a grey-coloured Toyota Echo.
