Highway 400 has reopened after a transport truck erupted in flames on Tuesday afternoon.
Large flames consumed the cab of the tractor trailer in the northbound lanes of the highway between Mapleview Drive and Innisfil Beach Road. Plumes of black smoke could be seen from kilometres away.
Provincial police closed the road for about 30 minutes, while fire crews extinguished the blaze. No injuries are reported.
The fire is now out and all lanes of the highway have reopened.
It’s not yet known what sparked the fire.
