A century-old barn was destroyed by fire in Oro-Medonte on Thursday morning.

The fire broke out about 9:30 a.m. at a farm on the 8th Line of Oro-Medonte.

Thirty firefighters were called to the scene but by the time they got to the farm near Coulsen, the barn was fully engulfed and collapses soon after.

The owner of the farm was not home at the time and no one was injured. The cattle inside the barn were able to get out on their own but a tractor was destroyed.

Fire officials say the damage is so extensive they will not be able to determine a cause.
