Three teenagers are facing multiple charges for allegedly damaging property, a vehicle, a recreation centre and stealing a vehicle this weekend in Muskoka.

Bracebridge OPP received multiple calls for mischief and property destruction on Friday in the area of Salmon Avenue, Manitoba Street and McMurray Street. The suspects smashed property and a vehicle, according to the victims, police adding that the suspects then caused significant damage to maintenance equipment at a recreation centre and stole a vehicle from another residential address.

After collecting evidence and surveillance footage, an officer spotted the stolen vehicle just after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday travelling on Forest Glen Trail in Gravenhurst.

When the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver allegedly tried to flee; however, police say it became stuck, and the suspect continued to flee on foot.

Officers contained the area with the help of the OPP's K-9 Unit, Emergency Response Team and information from community members. The suspect was eventually located and arrested.

A 15-year-old from Port Carling was charged with two counts of mischief over $5,000, two counts of property damage, and two counts of break-and-enter and theft, among more than a dozen offences.

Two additional 15-year-olds have been identified and are also facing charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
