Serious two-vehicle collision in New Tecumseth

Highway 9 was closed in both directions, but police have since reopened the eastbound lanes

Shortly before 7 a.m., a car and a dump truck crashed on Highway 9 at Tottenham Road.

"The driver of the dump truck is trapped and extrication is ongoing," New Tecumseth Fire Chief Dan Heydon said at the scene shortly after 8 a.m.

By 8:30 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP Const. Brandon Oks said both drivers had minor injuries and one had been sent to a local hospital.

"The investigation is on-going in relation to potential charges," said Oks.
