Seniors take action on climate change
Groups of seniors are hijacking National Seniors Day with 70-plus events across Canada demanding immediate action on climate change.
Seniors for Climate are marching to highlight their frustration with government inaction on the climate emergency.

More than 70 communities and thousands of seniors and supporters from Salt Spring Island, B.C., to Halifax, N.S., will participate.
Barrie’s meet-up is being held Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Barrie City Hall Rotunda.
The rally features speakers and music by local climate groups until 4 p.m., when they will gather outside for a protest march to Meridian Place where they plan to chant and demand action on climate change.
Seniors for Climate (SFC) is a project founded by six seniors’ climate action groups [Suzuki Elders, Climate Action for Lifelong Learners (CALL), Grand(m)others Act to Save the Planet (GASP), Climate Legacy, Seniors for Climate Action Now! (SCAN!) and For Our Grandchildren (4RG)].
SFC has supported groups nationwide to hold events, including rallies, teach-ins, rocking chair protests, parades, musical performances and street theatre.
