Man arrested for alleged assault, death threats at local business

A man is facing multiple charges after reportedly threatening to harm staff members at an Orillia business Friday afternoon.

At around 2 p.m., police say the individual entered a Mississaga Street East establishment and threatened to cause physical harm to three staff members. The man fled before the arrival of police, but officers were able to locate and arrest him soon after.

The 27-year-old Orillia man was charged with three counts of uttering treats to cause death or harm and three counts of assault.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
