July alleged mischief and assault results in October arrest

A man accused of ruining another man’s car roof and assaulting him was busted by provincial police on Monday.

Police say a man with a knife destroyed the top of the victim's vehicle while it was parked in front of a Dominion Street, Midland business.

The vehicle owner confronted the suspect, resulting in an interaction, and the suspect fled the scene.

On Thanksgiving Monday, police found the 42-year-old Midland man and charged him with mischief over $5,000, possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with his probation.

The accused remains in custody and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
