A man from East Gwillimbury has been declared a dangerous offender.
A judge ruled on Wednesday that Frank Cunningham, 36, be designated a dangerous offender after pleading guilty to child sexual exploitation offences. He has also been sentenced to eight years in prison.
On April 4, 2016, Cunningham pleaded guilty to making arrangements to commit sexual assault, making arrangements to commit sexual exploitation, possession of child pornography, access to child porn and fraud.
In 2013, York Regional Police began investigating ads that were posted online seeking intimate relationships with single parents who have babies and toddlers in the Newmarket area.
In 2014, Cunningham met with an undercover cop he believed was a single mother for the purpose of sexually assaulting her two young kids.
That’s when he was arrested.
