A boarded-up, single-family home was destroyed by fire in Orillia.

Orillia Fire Chief Chris Ferry said a neighbour on Clifford Street called in the fire at around 3 a.m.

More than a dozen firefighters battled the blaze.

“The fire is determined to have been caused by combustibles piled too close to a heater,” Ferry said.

At that time, Clifford Street was closed but was reopened at around 6:50 a.m.
