The Central York Fire Services hosted its open house event on Saturday.

This annual event marks two years since the opening of Fire Station 4-5, which has two fire crews and includes the administrative offices and CYFS’ Training Division.

Station 4-5 is the first fire station jointly built by the Town of Aurora and the Town of Newmarket, since the Towns consolidated their fire services in 2002.

At Saturdays event, station 4-5 was offically renamed Ian Laing Headquarters in honour of the late Fire Chief.
