Brampton man accused of driving 70km/h over limit through Bradford

Police pulled over a vehicle allegedly clocked travelling nearly double the posted speed limit in Bradford.

The 23-year-old driver from Brampton is accused of speeding 150 kilometres per hour through a posted 80 km/h zone on County Road 27 near the 12 Line.

"Way too fast!" Police posted about the offence on social media. "The faster you drive, the higher your risk of losing control and being involved in a crash, which can be fatal or cause serious injury."

The stunt driving offence carries a 30-day driver's licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.

Police added that fines range from $2,000 to $10,000, and a maximum licence suspension of two years for a first conviction, plus six months behind bars.
