Barrie man charged in alleged stabbing

A 22-year-old Barrie man faces charges in connection with an alleged stabbing over the weekend.

Police were called for service in the area of Maplegrove and Kulpin Avenues in Bradford around 1 a.m. Saturday, and say officers arrived to find paramedics attending to a 32-year-old man from Bradford with a single stab wound.

A suspect was taken into custody at the scene and charged with assault-related offences.

According to police, the Bradford man underwent surgery at a local hospital and is in stable condition.

"South Simcoe Police believe that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety," the service noted in a release.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are appealing to the public for any information, including dash camera or security footage, to be emailed to the detective on the case.
