Armed robbery at gas station in Amaranth Twp.

Provincial police were summoned to a robbery at a gas station on County Road 109 near midnight on Monday.

Police say at around 11:30 p.m., a masked person arrived at the station with a firearm and shot the victim, causing life-threatening injuries.

Air Ornge transported the victim to a Toronto area trauma centre.

The shooter wore a three-quarter-length winter jacket with a fur hood, black pants, black shoes, and a blue medical mask.

The investigation is ongoing by the Dufferin OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch.

As a firearm was involved in this incident, police say do not engage or approach the person; call 911 immediately.

The OPP asks anyone in the area to check, save and secure any potential video evidence from devices at their homes or businesses between Monday at 11:15 p.m. and Tuesday at midnight.
