Police quickly arrested a man accused of an armed robbery at a business in Collingwood over the weekend.

Now, they're asking for the public's help finding any evidence.

Provincial police say a suspect produced what was thought to be a firearm and had the employee open the cash register Sunday night.

"The employee complied, and the suspect eventually left the business with an undisclosed amount of money," the OPP stated in a release.

Police say they made an arrest within 90 minutes.

A 44-year-old local man is charged with weapons-related offences, and police say the employee was not physically injured.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating several items they say the suspect discarded, including a black flat peak hat with 1858 embroidered on the front, a black zip-up sweater and a black replica handgun/BB gun used during the robbery.

Police believe the items were thrown away in the Pine and Oak streets and between First and Third streets in Collingwood.

Anyone with information about the location of these items is asked to call the Collingwood and the Blue Mountains OPP at 1-705-445-4321.
