The Forks, Duck Pond once again open for skating

After being shut down over the weekend due to warm weather, both The Forks and the Assiniboine Park Duck Pond have reopened for skating.

The Forks said on Instagram that cooler weather and work from the site crew have allowed the canopy and winter park to reopen for visitors.

As well, Assiniboine Park posted on Instagram that the Riley Family Duck Pond is open again for skaters. The skating shelter is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

People are told they are not allowed to bring hockey sticks or pucks onto the ice.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, cooler weather is supposed to stick around in Winnipeg.

The high Monday is supposed to reach -3 C and by Friday, it's expected to hit -17 C on Friday.
